In order to get the best quality print, one of the key steps is to remove the image background (e.g. drawing medium). Having the paper the artwork is drawn on printed out as well does not usually look too nice. Also, even if the background may look consistent to us, there may be dark spots or shadows that become obvious through print.
Removing the background and replacing it with a consistently coloured background will enable the most professional and best print quality on your garment.
It's easy, simply tap on it to remove. If your background colour is relatively consistent one tap should do the trick. If there are still background parts remaining after one tap, tap again anywhere on those parts and repeat till all parts are removed. If the background consists of different shades of the same colour it may take a few taps to remove it completely.
If you would only like a part of the artwork, you can just remove the background around the part and select to crop it out at the cropping step.
If you would like to customise with a photo shot ( e.g. the latest family Christmas shot), or your artwork has no background ( see right for examples), click skip to continue.
If the background forms part of the artwork ( eg fully painted in background , or coloured in) you can either choose to remove it or click skip.
If you have difficulty removing the background completely or if large parts of your artwork are removed alongside your background as it is similar in colour to the background, don't worry! You can either crop your artwork out excluding the unremoved background parts or skip this step and crop your artwork out with the background.
If these don't work for you, you can email us the original image to image@doodlenstitch.co and we are happy to do our best to remove the background and send the image back to you (within 24-48hrs).
